Hello, I’ve been working on this issue for nearly three years. Every time I try to reach out I am never given the assistance I need. I had made my account back sometime in 2016, and this was before the rule was put in that a minor could not own a PayPal account. My account was limited, obviously, once this guideline was put in place. I am now of legal age, and I’m still unable to release the funds from my PayPal account. Below displays a timeline of me trying to figure out this issue, and it is still not resolved. On September 15th, 2017, I tried transferring money from my PayPal account to my savings account, not aware this was not possible since I had no checking account at the time, but I felt like messing around just to see if it worked. The money was, of course, not sent to any bank account. And, the money was no longer in my account. I called the customer service department twice and then emailed customer service at least 6 times, each time receiving a response that the 'issue was resolved.' This was before the timeline I have shown below. On December 8th, 2017, I called PayPal and was told that I am a minor they would freeze my account, put a 45-day hold on it, and after that time, I was to call back to have the funds released. On February 4th, 2018, I called PayPal as the 45 days had passed and was told that within 48 hours I would receive an email stating the process of releasing the funds to me. On February 18th, 2018, I called PayPal again, as no email had been sent to me within that 48 hours. I was told I could not get any information on my account, was transferred 3 times, and then hung up. I called again to receive a call back and never received one. On March 10, 2018, I posted to the community page, I believe my post was deleted, but I did receive a follow up from PayPal, with very little instructions, and mostly repeating that my case had been solved. On May 11th, 2018, I was given more information on why my account has a limitation, which I was very well aware of it. It gave me the instructions to then release the funds from my account, which is not what I’ve been focusing on, I was mostly caring about the fact $40.00 was in my account and now it’s missing and I can’t get it back. On July 20th, 2018, I ended up reaching out again to at least resolve the missing money. I used the Live Chat feature and was told to wait yet another few business days for an email to have my issue resolved. I received no email as I was promised. On August 20th, 2018, I emailed yet again and it was stated that my issue was resolved. It of course, was not. I am still missing the $40.00 I had mistakenly transferred to an unconfirmed bank account. Since I was still not given any of the help I was needing, I decided to wait it out until I was of legal age. I figured it would make things easier as I would be able to easily transfer it to a bank or card, with the rest of the current funds in my account. Sometime in January this year, I reached out using the chat feature, since I figured it’d be the quickest. The wait time was so incredibly long, that I had forgotten to check up on it. All I need right now is to have the $40.00 back into my account so I can then release the funds to a bank/card. I am unable to write this to PayPal directly, so I am hoping I can somehow get it resolved through here. Thanks.
