I am slightly annoyed with this one. One Friday 1st of September I reiceved a mail from Ebay informing me that they were unable to take my selling fees from Paypal, I checked Paypal as I knew I had more than suffiecent funds in place to discover without warning that my account has limitations and in order to remove the limitations I must provide a photo ID and proof of address, I provided both of these documents and was informed I will hear back within 48 hours, 48 hours has been and gone and still no response. My two issues are why was my account limited, I am a small seller on Ebay? Why can I not remove the balance in my account? It seems rather convienent that Paypal freeze the account whilst they gain interest on my funds and they have subsequently put me out of pocket as I have sold two items on Ebay and the buyers have paid into my frozen Paypal account. The buyers expect me (quite rightly) to ship them they goods they have paid for so I have had to use my own money to pay for the shipment charges with the couriers. I am not sure this is actually legal, they have essentially stolen my Paypal balance and are holding me to ransom for no reason apart from them wanting further proof of ID on a Paypal account I have already provided the requested proof for when I opened it over 13 years ago! Shocking use of power, I wonder what a court would make of a business freezing your assets without legal recourse or giving a solid reason for such an action.
