Thank you to all those in the community who have experienced a similar scam and therefor confirmed my suspicion. It was by reading previous posts that clinched it . I advertised an item on Gumtree for sale and within 20 mins I had a text if the item was still for sale From "Gxxx Cxxxxx" "Great! please consider it sold and i want you to remove the advert as i am willing to pay your full asking price because i need to buy it for my cousin asap, i have read through the advert and i'm totally satisfied with it. Unfortunately i would not be able to come personally to collect due to my hearing loss and I'm just recovering from heart surgery so I'm house-bound, I have a courier agent that would help me to pick it up at your preferred location after you have received your money and i'll pay you via PayPal once you are ready." I admit to being suprised at getting a sale so quick and in someways I was suspicious from the start LATER From "Gxxxx Cxxxx" OK,Kindly get back to me with your location so that i can inform the courier agent about it now. Also, you can send me your PayPal email and registered name with your actual price so that i can send the money right away and choose a good time for the pick up after payment has been received. LATER From "Gxxxx Cxxxl" I'm sorry about this but my PayPal account can not make payments into an "icloud" email due to some reasons, you can please setup and an alternative email like Outlook, gmail or hotmail account and attach it to your PayPal account so that i can make the payment asap. Let me know once you have setup the email. LATER From "Gxxxx Cxxxl" Regarding your PayPal email, sorry you will need an alternative email like gmail or hotmail account in order to be able to receive payment confirmation from PayPal as btinternet or icloud email delays payment..i have had problems with them in the past..just create a gmail or hotmail account and attach it to your PayPal account..let me know once you have done that please so that i can proceed with the payment I contacted Paypal who confirmed my suspicion that no problem existed and it was more likely that the scammer would be sending a payment confirmation email ( and not Paypal) and this was another method to scam sellers into sending money through "moneygram. Having "politely"!! replied to Mr Scam I advised that I would only accept Cash, a cleared cheque or the paypal payment confirmation. I have not heard of since
