Long story short, the seller (a company in korea) is threatening to pursue legal action because I made an unauthorized transaction claim, because it was unauthorized. I won't go into details because it is irrelevant (will edit in details if it is indeed relevant). The thing is I am a korean citizen, residing in Canada right now under work permit. I need to go back to Korea this year for some business, but if the seller does pursue legal action because of a $300 CAD unauthorized transaction claim, then it will threaten my status in Canada, and my being able to go back to Canada. As you guys may know, Korea still has conscription, and while I am authorized to reside in foreign country (again wont go into detail), these kind of legal disputes can jeopardize that and everything that I have worked for and lived for. So my question is, is the seller even allowed to make these legal actions because of these disputes, even though Paypal probably has them under seller protection? Will lawsuits like these in korea occur that fast? Do I just need to concede defeat, even though I am not guilty and stand corrected on these unauthorized transaction claims, because of threat of legal action? What do I need to do? I sincerely, as much as it is hard to believe, want both paypal and the seller to believe that I did not make these transactions, and while $300 is a large sum, it really is not worth risking my work and life in Canada, where I one day desire to become citizen. Any advice or help will be much, much appreciated. Thank you.
