Hello everyone. I had a buyer on eBay who fairly claimed damages on an item that I had missed before I sold it, and then requested a refund. I complied and issued a refund through paypal using the refund feature on the payment they sent me. However, this was not immediate, as funds were not yet available at the time in the PayPal account (I had already transferred the funds from PayPal to my bank) so the refund didn't immediately go through PayPal. I was also not able to transfer sufficient funds from my bank to PayPal, since for whatever reason at this time PayPal requested documents to confirm my identity (which I gave, though due to complications the final document is still clearing) and I was disallowed from adding funds to my PayPal account. So, the refund was then automaticlaly issued as an eCheck. This did not work either though, as neither my bank nor PayPal had sufficient separate funds to fully refund the purchase, but plenty when put together. I contacted the buyer and they said the eCheck did not clear, but I checked and the funds are still missing from my bank account (It overdrafted the account to complete the transaction, which may also be why the check didn't clear in the first place) and the eCheck's status is still pending on PayPal despite it being sent out a week or so ago. The buyer then (fairly, as he hadn't received his money) opened a case against me and eBay refunded him using a different card attached to the account. So the buyer is now refunded in full but there is still this eCheck full of money I cannot access and is still pending. Is there a way that I can cancel this and receive the funds back so that I don't suffer a double refund? And also is the check's continued pending status a result of my PayPal account being temporarily disallowed from adding funds? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
