I've seen other people complaining about PayPal being linked to Messenger and Facebook. Some people even saying they :accidentally" linked the 2. Well, several times I almost accidentally linked them myself. While processing a transaction there's a small check-marked box, ready to TAKE permission to send notifications to Facebook/Messenger. There's absolutely no reason why I should have to opt OUT of such a thing. I'll put this into context why this is so annoying. The internet is full of intrusions, alerts, popups, malware, invitations to download or update something, etc. A person has to be vigilant, and constantly make decisions. It's exhausting! Now, having to opt OUT of linking PayPal, Messenger and Facebook is just one more thing to watch out for. Just one more annoyance. One more decision about something I didn't ask for. Moreover, there isn't the option to just plain get rid of that offer. With my next purchase, I'll have to be on the alert to un-check that box again. It's like they're sure we'll either miss the box or get tired of unchecking it. And the benefit isn't all that helpful. If I order a USB cable, I don't need to have my breakfast interrupted with an alert saying the cable was shipped. That adds nothing to my life, it actually is an unwelcome disruption. If the cable seems to be taking a long time to arrive, I will determine the place and time to track the order. So, no. I don't ever want to link these accounts, and I don't appreciate the checked box every time I make a purchase.
