Hello friends
I have read everything I was directed to about this, but haven't found what I need. I recently paid a third party support company, that I thought was a large corporation that deals with everything computers. Because I did not know it was a third party, I let them have everything you shouldn't when you are aware it is a scam. When the support tech finished, he shut down my PC. We had agreed on this. When I turned the computer back on, I saw what I can only describe as 2 small windows just above the taskbar. The boxes had red logos on them I had never seen, so I immediately said WTHeck? and opened one of them, and saw a timer running. I had no clue what they were and why they were, but I immediately thought, 'oh no! someone is in my pc looking around'. But then I thought about the timer and realized it had just started either when I started the pc or when I opened the window/box. Scared the bejeezus out of me, and I deleted all programs I hadn't seen before. I then came here to PayPal and filed for a complaint resolution. But, I put it under the Unauthorized access heading. But it Was authorized so my resolution was denied. I now see what I did wrong. During this time I had spoken with the technician, and told him I never authorized whatever it was he left behind, and I had filed a dispute. He asked if I was not happy with the service? to which I said no sir! He then said he would tell his supervisor and they would issue a refund. After a few days and I didn't see anything like a refund, I called him again and he seemed surprised I had not received it. He told me to hold on and came back and said there was a problem with my account and once I cleared it up, they would issue the refund. I checked and did everything I was told to fix the problem, and received an email saying it was.
I'm sorry about the length here. I always feel like I have to explain how the problem came to be. I found and printed from the Help Center "How do I request a refund?", which is pretty straight forward. I just had a couple of questions I think. First, if the Resolution team has already denied my dispute, can I still request the refund? Second, I don't know where I saw it, but I read a sentence saying I needed to send a message through PayPal. I now think it was saying what I have read here, and that is on the Summary page. However, I opened my transaction history, and see seven transactions on the same case number. Six of them have a negative (-) gross and net in the amount I paid. And one (+) amount. OK...this is confusing so #1 says Website Payment -$XXXXX, #2 says General Credit Card Deposit +$xxxxx, and the remaining five entries are the same as #1. The first three are dated 10/04/2018, the next two are 10/6 and the final two are dated 10/08/2018. Am I supposed to select one from this list? Or should I find just the one on the summary page?
I think that is all I have questions about, for now anyway. I can scan the page I spoke about if it is needed, but then it will have personal information on it.
That is all I dare to put on this page. I thank all of you for your help, and will understand if you look at it and just laugh. I'm a newbie, and I know how we treated newbies where I worked!
