Hello please help, I’ve sent a complaint to PayPal but they just don’t understand what’s happened and I keep getting same reply I have no seller protection. My complaint is as follows... One of my friends Facebook account had been hacked, the scammer sent me a message using her profile asking if I have a PayPal account, as she’s just sold something and doesn’t have a PayPal account.. I said yes and gave her the details, I had no reason to think it wasn’t her. The money showed in my account.. PayPal sent me email to say money was in my account. My friend (so I thought) gave me her bank details so I transferred the money into her account. The next morning I see an email from PayPal to say they have refunded the charge as frudalent..How can they do this when they said the money was in my account? I acted on this and I’m now £235.00 out of pocket, PayPal have frozen my account until I’ve paid this money in. The police have been involved and I have a crime reference number, I’ve also contacted my bank. But I would never of made this payment if PayPal hadn’t of said money was in my account.
