I have done some web surfing and it appears that CUSTOMERS HAVE BEEN ASKING THE SAME THING FOR YEARS WITH NO RESULT FROM PAYPAL. People want a field to add a nickname to the cards and/or accounts in their PP Wallet. I dropped an email to support about this a couple of weeks ago and didn't even get the courtesy of a response. I'm a web developer. Adding 1 column (nickname) to the wallet item table/database is not a big deal - nor is parsing that field as a link on the few pages that list the cards/accounts in the wallet. I must assume that Paypal gets a transaction fee everytime their service is used. The reality is ONLY SOMETIMES I USE PAYPAL, but more often, I find myself having to pull my wallet out of my pocket, so I just type the card number into the site where I'm making the purchase and Paypal loses their percent of my purchase. I have taken a small survey of 30 business associates.. All but 4 people do what I do. Seems to me like Paypal is losing 26 out of 30 transaction fees in my small test group. The only reason I could imagine PayPal wouldn't do this simple upgrade to their site is in the hopes that they are creating a scenario where they are pushing customers into using PayPal credit so that they get the whole trasaction fee instead of having to split it with Mastercard or Visa. Again, based on my small survey, the math doesn't work. People with multiple cards simply type in the number if they have to pull the card out of their real wallet anyhow. If I could ask the president of Paypal one question, it would be this: As the leader of a hugely successful organization, how is that adding a single field to your website that has been asked for from many customers over the course of years has not led to any type of customer service result?
