A month ago I purchased a vintage doll for $630, paid promptly, and in a reasonable time was informed Fedex would deliver in a few days. I carefully watched the tracking and, assuming signature would be required, stayed home all day for the delivery. In the afternoon I received an email from Fedex stating it had been delivered. Odd. No doorbell. No barking dogs--my terriers are notorious among delivery folks for barking at the first footfall on the front porch. I went immediately to the front door. Nothing. Looked around the house, nearest neighbors. Nothing. Called Fedex. "Delivered.Left at front door." I contacted the seller who called and filed a claim with Fedex and a complaint against the driver. 2 weeks later the seller informs me Fedex has denied the claim and she is through with the situation. So I open a case with Ebay. Two hours later Ebay informs me the seller has requested a decisiion and they have ruled in her favor, based on Fedex's bogus "Delivered" email. So I file a claim with Paypal but am counseled my chances are slim. Really?? Why should I, a good faith customer, lose $650 because the seller failed to properly protect the item and transaction with Signature Confirmation and because Fedex has bungled once again? I sell on Ebay and always require SC on any item over $100. What recourse do I have?
