My eBay buyer's street address does not match the postcode shown on PayPal as a confirmed address. The postcode is for another street in the same town (the last two letters only of the postcode are different). So I don't understand how this is a confirmed address with PayPal when it is invalid when I check it with the Royal Mail postcode checker. Secondly, the buyer maintains they have logged the correct street and postcode combination with eBay and is asking me to refund their PayPal payment for non-delivery of the item they bought from me. I sent it Royal Mail First Class using the postage label generated through eBay (with the 'incorrect' postcode on it) but without getting a certificate of posting (it was a large letter, which I popped straight into a post box). Is there anything I can do to avoid having to pay this refund and lose not only the item, the purchase price and postage costs? Or do I have to just 'chalk it up' to experience?
