All I sought was a way to send PayPal a comment as to why I just removed my bank account (leaving only credit cards), but amazingly the entire list of Help and "Contact Us" topics omits anything along the lines of Comments, Suggestions, or Feedback (other than a few things related to eBay Feedback record). I couldn't believe there wasn't a simple way to do that. I asked "Sarah," the automated assistant, "How do I leave feedback," and she exclaimed, "You're leaving us!" Get a grip, Sarah... Well, apparently PayPal doesn't want feedback, but I just wanted to tell them that I would have been happy to leave a bank account associated with my PayPal account had PayPal allowed me to choose which payment method it defaults to for a linked purchase from a merchant. There is no such option. Instead, it always defaults to Bank Account, and I have to remember to change it each time, because I don't often keep much in that particular bank. One time, I forgot to change the payment method, and minutes after I realized my error a PayPal CSR told me it was too late to change it, even though it was unlikely I'd be able to get funds into the account (an online-only bank) fast enough to cover the transaction. It turns out that with the bank's help I was able to get the funds there on time and with no fees, but it was still a hassle -- even if PayPal would have simply used my credit card as a backup if the bank debit had failed (I'm guessing that might be how that works, anyway). Of course, the mistake I made is probably what PayPal is banking on (pun intended), since their costs are lower when no CC is involved. So they make more via this kind of member boo-boo, at the expense of member convenience and goodwill. Anyway, as I said I have deleted the bank account, since the member convenience and goodwill are obviously of secondary concern to PayPal, as lack of a way to email suggestions would seem to confirm. But don't cry, Sarah, I'm not leaving entirely.
