I sold a model kits whioch requires many parts to make. You need to have some modelling skills which was clearly advertised. I send everything in a brand new 9"x6" box with shredded paper and parts are bubblewrapped and placed in carbdboard for protection. The buyer emailed saying he could not find the spike parts. Then emailed back 5 minutes later saying he found them and was not looking properly. I then got an email saying he could not find any pins and before I know it there is a case opened against me. Please bare in mind I was at work so could not retunr emails straight away. He wanted a refund through paypal so I said to send it back. I got back a completely differant box, parts all put together in a small amount of bubblewrap rattling around in the box which has resulted in them being broken. On closer inspection it is clear that the buyer has put the item together with some pins and somehow broken it so now the item has the holes where the pins go full up with broken pins which it looks like he has tried to repair or pull out. I cannot use or resell the item and it is destined for the bin. The buyer was given a full refund and the case has been automatically close so I cannot dispute it. I have pictures for proof. What I sent was a full model (I use a list to ensure I pack everything) so it would seem the buyer did not look fully. The fact it is in a completely differant box makes me wonder if the buyer found the pins in the box after opening the paypal case and me telling him to return the item. What shall I do, I have lost not only the money from selling the item but also from the item now unusable for even spares. Is this some sort of loophole that has come up in the Paypal dispute resolution section because I cannot dispute the item return as not being the item I sent out? Any help would be much appreciated. KInd regards
