I'm new to PayPal. I tried making a purchase on ebay and I found out I've got a security lock on my account. The transaction can't be made with the seller. I've called customer service four times. The first customer service rep told me to reconfirm my credit card and that didn't work. The second rep told me to wait 24 hours and try again and that didn't work. The third rep told me I need to build a purchase history with paypal before I can purchase an item over $100.00. The fourth rep told me they have no idea why my account was locked. I proceeded to tell her what may have triggered the security lock. I made a first purchase on ebay with best buys. I selected the option to pick up the item. The payment was processed without any problems. I then received an email from best buys telling me the item is out of stock at that store and my money would be refunded. Once my money was refunded, I purchased the item again except I selected for the item to be delivered by mail. This is when paypal wouldn't allow the transaction. I was able to purchase the item directly at best buys website. This second item I'm trying to buy on ebay only accepts paypal, but the security lock is still on my account. This is what I told the fourth customer service rep. Her reply was she couldn't do anything about it. I asked if she could connect me with someone that could. She told me no. She then told me to try other options. This makes no sense. I created an account with paypal for their transaction service and I'm being told by a rep to use another option? She's telling me paypal sucks and we can't help you so use something else. Once the seller agrees for an optional payment, I'm done with paypal. I can understand why you need a security lock to protect theft, but if the person is calling directly with proof as the account holder then that should be enough to release the security lock. To add more insult, I was told to make smaller purchases under $100.00 to build history with them. What am I, 14 years old? This is the worst service I've ever experienced. I'm done with this trash and I would never recommend paypal to anyone.
