I do not understand or comprehend how Paypal are allowed to operate. They really are quite astonishing in their utter, utter ineptness and I just can’t see how they’re able to get away with things. At the moment, I am hundreds of pounds down and I don’t know what to do...they absolutely could not care less and their call centre operators are like something from a “carry on” film. Simple scenario: sold 4 items on ebay about 12 days ago. All buyers paid. I sent items seeing that they’d paid. The problem was that the items went to the wrong address. When I set the app up, I put in my name and ended it in Hotmail. It should have been outlook. It transpired that someone (not me) does have an email address that ends in those details. I call ebay. Explain error. Told not to worry: happens all the time. But call Paypal. They’ll sort it. Phone Paypal. They say speak to Ebay. Back and forward we go. Ebay maintain that as the goods sold (and arrived) from my account, Paypal need to simply transfer the money into mine. But Paypal found this too challenging. They suggested I emailed each of the four people and ask them to file “not received items” their ends. I explained that the items had been received, so why would I do this? They’d likely suspect a scam was going on. They repeated that I do this again and again. Even this wasn’t as easy as it sounds, as, because the ebay site censors/won’t allow the exchange of email address (MAD!), even when/if their £ is returned, I can’t communicate to them the correct details. One call centre advisor suggested I email the owner of the wrong account and “reach out” to them. What? “Reach out to them…” he said again. Anyway, in the meantime, I contacted Paypal by email, several times, via their message centre. What an utter calamity this is. File as many messages as you like (“We’ll get back to you within 24 hours.”). You can’t even access it later as it says that part of the “site is unavailable.” How dare they treat people so dreadfully? How are they allowed to get away with this? In the meantime, my buyers are getting shaky. There’s no question they’ve received their items, but one has now mailed me saying: “I paid for this watch via Paypal Credit. Meant I got 4 months interest free so didnt have't to pay everything off in one go….” What? My God. I’m guessing I’ll just have to take the hit on this. Very sad. Would never ever use this clowns again.
