I sold a Steam Gift Card through eBay and after I sent the code ebay told me that the account had been hacked. I had already lost the code and I wasn't getting paid. I saw I had a pending payment on PayPal from that account and I found the email and tried emailing that person to try to get it sorted out (since eBay wouldn't let me message them anymore) I got no response. Then a month later, they sent me a payment for the $50. I emailed them again and said thanks and slowly used that money for stuff I bought online. A few weeks after I used all the money and forgot about it, the person filed a claim that they didn't authorize the payment. (I didn't even know you could file a claim like that that long after a payment) I got an email telling me to message PayPal for my side of the story and so I did and only got an email back telling me to call them. I never got a chance to call them back and shortly after I got an email saying the buyer won and I checked my PayPal and I had $-50 in my account. Today, I got an email saying they would send debt collectors if I didn't pay. I decided I would pay them and forget about PayPal, never use them again after something like this, but there's one issue... I am unable to link my bank account, and I didn't see a way to pay that to PayPal from a card itself. What am I supposed to do? Forget about the account since they made it to where I can't pay my balance that I shouldn't even owe? Or will I have to do something else?
