I was hacked by this kid in Germany who ordered a bunch of stuff through my account. I've gotten half of the cash back, but have been waiting on the rest. Well, the other day I received an email for each of the two remaining claims. They said that the claims were accepted and that: We placed the disputed funds in your PayPal account while we investigate this claim. When we’re done, any part of the payment that was funded by your credit or debit card will be transferred automatically from your PayPal account to that card. Please note that it might take up to 30 days for the refund to be credited to your card. First of all, 30 days to post a refund to a credit card? In this day and age? What, is PayPal run on abacuses? Next, this isn't even what happened. I went in to check the claims and this is the NEW history regarding the money: Jan 2, 2016 Express Checkout Payment Sent Completed ... -$56.87 USD Jan 11, 2016 PayPal Balance Adjustment Completed Details $56.87 USD Jan 11, 2016 Credit to Credit Card Completed Details -$56.87 USD So this suggests the credit has already been issued to the card. My questions are: 1) Why is PayPal so BAD at communicating? I haven't received anything saying the credit was made to the card, only that the funds would be added back to my PayPal balance, which seems like it might have happened for a few minutes at least ... 2) Can it really take 30 days for a refund to the credit card? Amazon is less than an hour typically. PayPal really needs to step up on these things. With digital services getting better and better all the time, it's hard to imaging PayPal hanging on for very long into the future handling communication like this. And 30 days to refund to your credit card is just embaressing.
