I have been a satisfied user of Paypal and EBay for a number of years. But I don't want to link my accounts together. When their website is hacked I don't want my Paypal information released. They asked me if I want to link my accounts for months, which I declined to do (they did not have a button to do that, you had to just close the window). Now they no longer give you that option. You must provide them with you Paypal email address and password to shop there. I have long been careful to make sure I only enter this information on Paypal registered secure connections, but now they just pop open a window asking you provide them sensitive information about you account. They say this is to offer the same convience that Amazon users get with the Amazon one-click purchase. But this is a convience I do not want to have at the cost of reduced security. I am really surprised that you would let a merchant demand this information. It seems to me this should be a violation of the mechant terms of service. If I handed out this information when I made purchases it would make having a Paypal account no more secure than using a credit card.
