I am uk based. My credit reference agencies are showing my PayPal account as being defaulted for every month since last November 2022. It is not and payments are all up to date. Experian says it’s a PayPal issue. I reported it on Twitter, but 2 weeks on and no change - reported it again and now told it's a different department. So who do I ask to actually correct this error?

This happened today (I’m UK based) meaning if you slip overdrawn on your bank account when times are hard and have a fiver in your PayPal account, you will no longer be able to withdraw to your bank to cover it if you have less than £6 in your PayPal account. Simple question. This is my/our money - is this legal?

I can’t find an up-to-date definitive answer to this. I understand that attempting to buy an item over my credit limit will result in either an approval (limit raise) or not - but what happens if it’s not approved? Some answers on here say that the purchase will automatically then have the payment taken from your linked card or account, others say the attempted purchase will simply be refused.
Clearly it’d be good to know which is fact!

Right, I have found a solution for anyone in a similar position - log out of Paypal, clear history and cookies, purchase label via Royal Mail using Paypal as 'guest', DON'T use auto-form-fill robots or it will also try to create a new Paypal account for you and you will end up going round in circles. So there you go - but for the love of god, this should be such a simple task!!

So an eBuyer wanting a refund, opened an Ebay refund case and so my Paypal account is showing negative pending a refund. I go through the Ebay refund process and eBay wants to charge me over £3 for a dvd return - no way! So I try to generate my own label via Royal Mail - who use Paypal... So of course, because Paypal is showing a negative balance I can't use my account. So I try to add funds to Paypal and get the screen just hanging at: "Please wait while we process your request. This may take a few minutes". It doesn't work. So I can't use my Paypal account, I can't print a correctly priced postage label. What the HELL am I supposed to do? Does no-one at Paypal think to apply any common sense to this scenario!?

Hi, No I never did - the emails keep on coming after each eBay sale I make, now they're telling me I can't use my account - but I still can. I called customer servies as above, but they didn't put me through to the "right" department - and then actually told me to call back the next day! It's all pretty much rubbish service really - if my bank did anything like this (not that they would) it'd be sorted out pronto - but not Paypal. It concerns me that this company is dealing with MY money and having access to MY bank account yet they can't be bothered to sort this out. Lazy, shoddy and unprofessional.

I have now found a number to call PayPal (not on the site of course, that would be too easy - but from a helpful website providing numbers) - I am told that I now have to call back tomorrow to be able to 'provide the additional information' to be able to continue use my account. The fact that the emails provide incorrect information seems to be neither here nor there. For anyone else in the same incredibly frustrating boat, call PayPal on 0800 358 7911 & frankly, just hope for the best.
