I must say I am pretty discouraged with my recent dealings with paypal. I have been using PayPal to pay for a few reoccurring incidentals for months now. Due to the ease of linking my bank account and not needing to create individual payment accounts for each small bill. Things like my Xbox gold membership and Netflix for example. Each month the money is withdrawn from my account, then IMMEDIATELY payed to the third party. I recently conducted some business on eBay, as a seller. After following all of the recommended steps, I still had to call and email your customer service center to have the system updated that my buyer received the product in order to have my funds released. After speaking with a very pleasant customer service agent named Barbara my funds where released into the available status within a few hours. I then immediately request a transfer into my bank account, here in is where the problem lies. I was notified that it would take an additional 3-4 days to receive the deposit into my bank. This is poor business practice, and downright shady customer service. First, I am sure this timeline is quoted in order to compensate for banks not immediately releasing pending deposits, unfortunately my bank does not hold on to its customer deposits, and is very certainly one of the reasons they are consistently awarded the #1 spot on JD Powers customer friendly business rankings. Secondly, I called again today to simply gain an understanding of why this timeline exists, and your agent was not able to provide one. I simply am not content with the standard "because that's the policy" answer. If paypal is so hard up for interest accruing on escrow accounts that you need to hold on to my $384.10, then so be it. I will accept that explanation, otherwise I'm simply trying to understand why I can transfer money FROM my bank account, TO paypal at the blink of an eye, instantly, yet the system does not work in reverse? That in today's world, it takes 3-4 days to transfer money out of paypal's hands and back to mine? It seems there is a bit of a double standard here, a one way street, I cannot continue to business with a company that operates with such unfair business ethics. If I am truly 3 days away from receiving MY deposit, then YOU are 3 days away from losing another previously happy customer. Sincerely, Steve
