I'm in a similar situation. I have been buying and selling on Ebay and using Paypal for 15 years. I have perfect feedback. I sold a lamp on December 15th, sent it, and the buyer received it a few days later. Fast forward to Jan. 28, buyer files a claim with Paypal having NEVER contacted me, wanting a full refund because they said lamp was not working. Paypal granted their refund and had them ship it back to me. I received it today and they basically stuck it in a box without any packing material and the lamp is in pieces. The light in the lamp works but pieces of the lamp are crumbled. What's funny is that some of the pieces had wire in them and the wire is bent...someone would have had to bend it with their hands. I'm so disappointed in Paypal and feel like there is no protection for the seller. If they received the lamp broken, don't you think they would have contacted me prior to a month and a half of receiving it? If it arrived in pieces, wouldn't they have documented it with pictures? I take pride in what I sell and packaged the lamp VERY carefully. I'm at a loss of what to do now. There is not a way for me to add any comments to the case. From what I understand I just need to wait for it to be closed so that I can appeal. I have emailed Paypal two times but never received a reply. I guess I needed to vent too : ).
