Hi there, I am caught up in a bit of a nightmare and at the moment out a bit over $580.00 on what now looks to be a big mistake. Here is the item I won the bid on: http://www.ebay.com/itm/301488672328 As you can see the ebay sellers feedback is not very good, not many reviews... What I also noticed is that all of the other people that have left reviews for him only have a couple themselves, and they are all based out of Colorado... Like the seller. This is usually all stuff I look into before bidding, I've always had great luck with ebay, this time I got too caught up in wanting a good deal and never looked into the nitty gritty before I bid on the item and completed the purchase. So here is where I am at. The seller said they shipped the item, and yesterday it said it was delivered. I got a tracking number and everything. I had the day off of work yesterday, so when I got a text alert from the USPS that my package was delivered, and SIGNED for by a name I didn't recognize, you can imagine I was pretty surprised. I immediately called the USPS, they've opened an investigation. I also went to my local post office, they actually tracked the package saying that a package with that tracking number had been delivered to a local business, and was signed for there. They are going to try to recover the package, but if it does not have my address on the box, and I am sure it won't, there isn't anything they can do. I opened up a resolution request with the seller based on the fishy feedback and the shipping trouble. I am honestly not thinking there will be any resolution through the seller themselves, but after the mandatory time period I'm hoping eBay will be able to find a resolution for me. Now a couple things, in the resolution center I received a canned answer from the seller saying he couldn't issue a refund, and that I would have to take it up with the post office. He mentioned he had a receipt for the shipment, I asked if he could send me a copy. He sent me a copy of the signature confirmation receipt, which does have my name and address handwritten with the printed tracking number and bar code. But I have run a mail order business before, and I know that when I've received the signature confirmation receipt it is possible to write an address on it after the fact, so I don't see that as proof that they actually sent the package to my address, only proof that a package was sent somewhere. This is the first time I've ever been through a situation like this on ebay, I am wondering if anyone has ever heard of any scams that fit this bill and any recommendations as the best way to proceed. Because I have a tracking number to my zip code that says it was delivered, that means that things look good on eBay and PayPals end... Is there something else I can do to prove that i was never sent a package to my address? Would it help that the name that shows up on who signed for the package when you look at the tracking is not my own? The sellers PayPal is of course un-verified, looks to be using a fake email for their PayPal account, and I like usual payed through a bank account transfer.. I've been an upstanding member of PayPal and eBay for many years, just looking for advice on the best course of action, or if there seems like any hope in my situation. I had been saving up awhile to make a purchase like this, and it is a big loss financially for me. Thanks for any help and advice.
