I see that PayPal uses four digits of the account number to differentiate between accounts; this is a security weakness. In all my personal financial applications, I deliberately do NOT list any part of the account number or the financial institution but just a generic title. My financial institutions also allow me to use a generic name for my accounts in online banking. Why does PayPal use this weak system? Is it required by their parent company, eBay? If so, hopefully PP upcoming independence will allow them to offer/use the same options as just about all other online banking institutions. Meanwhile, is there any way I can at least remove the account numbers from the names of the accounts and just use a digit to denote which was opened first and which second?
