Hi, I recently sold a computer on ebay and the person asked to pick the item up. I did not know about the 'item not received' loophole that some people are exploiting when there is no tracking proof. So unfortunately I agreed, after some troubles her end (supposedly) eventually the money cleared into my bank account through paypal and I said they were ok to pick the item up (big tick on the item details saying you are now covered for seller eligibility). As pre-agreed, the 'son' of the woman who bought the computer came to pick it up. They then go through the motions of saying they never received it and my account goes into a negative balance. It was at zero before the claim got filed. I do some digging and notice someone who messaged me before on ebay about the item had the same surname as the winner of the item in their username. So I find their facebook page and put name to face and send it all to paypal and file it with action fraud. Paypal reviewed this for a month pretty much, and today I get an email saying it wasn't decided in my favour and: We attempted to deduct the amount of the transaction from your PayPal account but there were insufficient funds available. This may have resulted in your PayPal account access being limited until this amount can be recovered. So, **bleep** off all day about this I eventually get home and check my paypal account... the balance is ZERO (£0)... The last transcation on "all activity (with balance)" is: 23 Jun 2014 Update From Reversal Cancelled Details Update From Reversal 7XY93486K2377532F £1,642.00 £0.00 £1,642.00 GBP £0.00 GBP The item before was: 29 May 2014 Temporary Hold To J*** C*** Removed Details Temporary Hold To Jean Camilleri 6LB50141UP446510M -£1,700.00 £58.00 -£1,642.00 GBP -£1,642.00 GBP Am I suddenly going to be hit with another minus figure?? Or does this mean someone has stepped in to make things right? If it is the latter, why did I get that first email... and why haven't I received another?? Please help out asap, I've seen some great responses from the moderators on here, hoping you can advise... I will be calling the paypal helpline tomorrow to try and figure it out too. Thanks in advance, L
