I recieved this email in regards to someone interested in buying my car, but they are requesting a lot of weird things like Western Union and such. The transaction also does not show up in my account on paypal.com at all either. Upon telling them I felt uncomfortable with this they insulted me, saying they "can't cancel the transaction" and I " must western union them the $700 to confirm shipment in 24 hours or I will face legal action. Further more, I was text messaged by a "paypal" representative using their yahoo email address: janewayne592(at)yahoo.com saying that they were customer service and would help me through the transaction process and the western union. This was at 1:30 AM Hawaii time, when customer service hours are closed until 6AM Pacific time, or 3AM my time... As I type this it all sounds even more like a scam by the letter, but I figured I would just run it by the community just in case. Thanks in advance! Here is the main excerpt that got me scared: Follow The Verification Procedure Below For A Secure Transaction As per new PayPal payment policy, The total amount of $2,800.00 USD from (name) is in Pending and Secured, which includes the buyer's transportation fee and Western union charges. You need to complete this transaction and get the funds approved in your account being a transaction of 1996 Mustang - You have to send the transportation fee of $700.00 USD from your wallet and email the Western Union transfer receipt copy for complete verification process.
