We have a strange situation that neither PayPal or AMEX seems to be resolving: From what I understand: -An order placed for labels from, call it "Acme Paper" -We gave an AMEX number and info over the phone to Acme for payment -Acme processed it through Paypal (but not using our Paypal account- because I see no record of it under our account) - The company name, as processed through PayPal and AMEX was, call it "GLOBEX.com", not Acme. -We didn't recognize "GLOBEX.com" on the AMEX statement as coming from ACME paper, so thinking it was fraudulent- we disputed it with AMEX who placed a hold on the funds -The Amex hold stopped payment through Paypal to GLOBEX.com which is ACME Paper -ACME put the order on hold and didnt ship because they didnt get paid -We realized the mistake and asked Amex to release the hold -Amex released the dispute /hold- presumably paying PayPal from what they say -We have since paid our Amex bill on time including the amount from the ACME Paper invoice, believing Amex had released it to Paypal and to ACME -We requested that ACME simply cancel the order so that we could pay using a different card (so ACME would have to do a PayPal transaction) -I believe ACME has canceled -Paypal apparently has the money? -ACME never got the payment -Amex says Paypal was paid -Paypal won't refund back to AMEX for a credit to the account. I'm getting this second hand, but believe I have it accurately here.
