Hi all, I sold a pair of chanel sunglasses to a woman in England. She opened a claim against me saying they were badly scratched- they weren't! I provided proof (pictures) showing they were not damaged/scratched in any way. They then notified me that the buyer had written proof from a high street retailer opticians - vision express, claiming they were fake! I called vision express and they said they do not authenticate sunglasses they dont sell in store and the stores that do sell chanel cannot be 100% certain and would need to send them back which the buyer may be charged for. I contacted paypal in a panic, as the email stated the following: " We decided this claim in the buyer's favour based on documentation we received from them. As instructed by us, the buyer destroyed the item, as there is a risk that it may be illegal to return it. We're fully reversed the buyer's payment in accordance with our buyer protection." In other words, seller is refunded and keeps the sunglasses. I have proof off purchase for the sunglasses, I am completely gob smacked as I would have attached proof if it was a question of authenticity. I feel like paypal have not considered my side of the argument and are clearly not biased. The claims team have informed me that the decision will not be changed and it is not a case between myself and paypal so the complaint will be put through to the executive team and they will contact me within 4-8 weeks. I am in disbelief of the whole situation and cannot make sense of it. Has anybody ever been through this and do I need to contact a solicitor to help me with this case as I know I am in the right. I would appreciate any help or advice!
