I recently bought an item from eBay because this deal was posted on a popular Canadian website redflagdeals.com and i ended up buying this item for a very low price. After 1 or 2 days the seller marked the item shipped and provided a tracking number. After a week i checked the tracking number, it said the item was in opening status Jan 10 2014 and but there has been no activity after that point. I know about 10 other people that bought this same item have either already got thier refund or in process of dispute with paypal. Because the seller was banned and removed from paypal right after when we bought the item. So there is no way of contacting and asking the seller directly what happened. I opened a dispute with paypal asking them for a refund because i didn't think that seller would have shipped the item if they were commiting a mass fraud. And that tracking numbers would be fake. Paypal must have check the status of seller and known that seller has been banned from eBay so now the buyers will have to be refunded. It is not our fault that seller was a fraud on eBay. So, paypal reviewed my claim and sent me this email "In response to your claim, the seller has provided proof of shipment indicating that the item was shipped to you. Because the seller was able to provide proof of shipment, we cannot reverse this transaction or issue a refund. We encourage you to continue to work directly with the seller to amicably resolve this matter." I was almost shocked to see this. How could paypal say that seller shipped the item since he has been banned from eBay??? It doesn't make sense, and then paypal adds salt to the wound by saying to "WORK DIRECTLY WITH BUYER TO SOLVE THIS MATTER" and wowwwww. Thanks Paypal and eBay for banning that guy, i can certainly find him on ebay and send him/her questions!!!! I had no choice but to contact paypal again and beg them to look into this more seriously..... So i contacted paypal again and provided all the information i could and filed an "Appeal". After paypal reviewed this they turned from thier previous conclusion of "Not eligible" to "Eligible for a Refund now" and here comes a joyness of relief. And after reading further down this email from paypal, they also asked to "Ship the item back to seller and provide a tracking number". I was completely silenced by this outcome and it was very hard to believe that 1. Doesn't paypal know the seller is already banned from ebay? did paypal already gave customer's payments to seller, and now paypal don't want to loose thier money? My motive is to get my money back since I bought from ebay and it says your purchases are covered by paypal.
