Hi,
I desperately need some help. I work online so use my PayPal regularly and I came on to PayPal last night and at the top of my account page it said: "Provide information about your account"
When I went to the Resolution Center, it said there was o things requiring my attention, but at the bottom of the page there was three "Steps to Provide More Information". The first step said "Provide evidence of nonprofit registration with any applicable regulatory body" the second step said "Organization and Payment Information" The third step "Check Email for Additional Required Documentation"
I am definitely not a non-profit organization. I did recently used a Paypal donate button as I have a stray kitten at my house and had some friends offer to help me out with getting it fixed so put a donate button on my webpage to make it easier for them. I had two friends make a small donation of $5 and $10.
I emailed PayPal and explained this to them and this is what I got back today:
Dear
Thank you for contacting PayPal.
For your protection, we have temporarily limited what you can do with your PayPal account. We want to verify some additional details on your account before we restore access. Account limitations prevent you from completing certain actions with your account, such as withdrawing, spending, or receiving money. In some cases, PayPal implements these limitations to comply with federal and state laws and they can’t be avoided. In other cases, account limitations help protect against fraud or could be instituted because of seller performance. In order to lift limitations, you need to provide information to PayPal. Start by reviewing the email we sent to you informing you that your account was limited. Take a look at the details about the limitation and provide any requested information as soon as possible. Once you’ve done this, we will review the information and will usually respond within 24 to 72 hours. Here's how to complete the steps necessary to have your limitation reviewed:
Log in to your PayPal account. Click Resolution Center near the top of the page. Find the "Begin a limitation review" box. Click Resolve under the Action column beside each step. When you have completed each step, your account will be reviewed. We will send you an email updating you on your account status. As soon as we have confirmed that the necessary steps have been completed we will remove the limitation from your account. If you would like to learn more about limitations and ways to prevent them in the future, visit our Business Resource Center at https://www.paypal-businesscenter.com/content/help-prevent-limitations.
We appreciate your cooperation with this case. To provide the requested documentation, you have the option to upload your documents. Please Note: To help protect your information, we don’t accept files that are sent as email attachments. If you email us attachments, we will still require you to upload or fax your documents.
Using this option is quick and easy. Just follow the steps below:
Log in to your PayPal account. Click “Resolution Center” near the top of the page. Click “Resolve” under Action next to the item for which you need to provide documentation. Follow the instructions to upload the files. Click “Send Files to PayPal.” Give the file a recognizable title.
The title should not include more than three numbers. You may provide a description of the file you are sending, up to 100 characters. Click "Attach this File." Information about your file will appear under the Attachments box. In the Attachments section, you can preview the file or delete it. Repeat steps 1-3 as many times as required, up to a total file size of 5000kb, using a gif, jpg, png, or tif format. Click "Send Files to PayPal" to submit your files for review by PayPal. We will review your documents as soon as possible. We will be in contact with you once we have completed your request or if we need additional information. The status of your documents is readily available for you to view at your convenience. To check the status, log in to your PayPal account and visit your Resolution Center. Here you will be able to see if we received your document and whether it provided the information we needed.
Don't forget, we're always around if you need us. Just click "Help" in the top right corner of any PayPal page to visit our improved Help Center.
Add your mobile number to your PayPal account so we can reach you right away if we ever need to verify account activity with you. Simply log in to your PayPal account, click "Profile" near the top of the page and then click "Update" beside "Phone."
You can also make and receive payments with your mobile phone when you add it to your PayPal account. After you confirm your number and create a PIN, you'll be able to get money, send money, check your balance, or manage your account from your phone using simple text messages.
