So, Paypal have allowed someone to open a Paypal Credit account in my name, using my address. They insist its not fraudulent, because whoever it was has made some payments but have stopped and I'll have to pay the balance. They admit that there is a third party involved, but can't give me a name because under data protection they have to be protected. For the same reason they can't tell me what email address was used or what they bought, or any information about them. In fact the only real information I have is the last four digits of the account number, They won't give me the whole number, and the balance they think I should pay. Surely I am entitled to protection. Surely if I am responsible for this account then all this is my data and therefore they should provided it.
Has anyone else had this issue with paypal? Makes me want to cancel my normal account as my trust in them is wavering.
