Hi, I just recently had 4 different chargebacks filed against me and all were in favor of buyer, all payments were reversed and taken from my account leaving me with a negative balance of over $1400.00 and a frozen account until balance is paid! There were no items sold they were all money transfers done as a favor for a friend. He asked to have money sent to my account because he was not a paypal member. I used ATM to withdraw money and gave him the cash. He then had money transferred 3 more times without my knowledge or consent but each time the money was given to him. I was quite furious, words were said and the friendship ended. A month or so later I receive the emails from paypal informing me of the 4 chargebacks and that the Credit card was claiming "Unauthorized use of card." I knew that he had purposely done this, I tried disputing claims and tried to report this person who was committing fraud but with no luck of course. Paypals legal team did absolutely nothing. I made several different attemps on phone with Paypal to report this fraud and got nowhere! I was told repeatedly there was nothing I could do even though they admitted to being aware of the increase in scams and frauds being done this way.I was told it was "Friendly Fraud," are you kidding me! I even had one of the representatives actually hang up on me, unfortunately I did not get name but I do have 1-hour passcode number used that day for call. I am at my wits end and have filed a complaint with the BBB. I just want my money refunded and this person to be investigated and action be taken to prevent him from scamming other people, who knows how many other people he has done this to. He purposely filed chargebacks out of anger and knew that outcome would be in his favor and he would get the money given to him again. If it wasn't his card or a friends card than it only proves that is the one that stole the card, they have all the evidence and proof right there in the files in black & white. I provided them with all personal info, even the fact that he is using a fake business name, which they are doing nothing about. This person should be investigated and prosecuted. What is the deal with PayPal?? They treat us loyal, honest, longtime account holders with total disrespect and lack of willingness to help. As I read in another post if you fee you are being treated unfairly consider filing a claim with the BBB and maybe if enough of us are out there it will make them take the charges and complaints more serious! I read in another post that Paypal has a number for the FBI paypal member to report suspected fraud. Is this true and if so does anybody out there know this number?? Please contact me if you have number or have any info about this number. If this is indeed true than why PayPal was I not informed of this and given the number?
