I feel exactly the same way. I would think that if PayPal were customer-oriented rather than profit-oriented, they would allow us to control what personal identifiable information is shared with third parties. I understand that they need to have our real names and financial info in the event of any problems or disputes, but there's absolutely no reason why they should provide either of these things arbitrarily to all third parties without our consent. All I really want is to have my shipping address (minus my name) sent to the seller, but I'd settle for my email address instead of my name. So, PayPal, why is that not an option? You have our information in case of a dispute. Why instead do you force us to give our real names over to all of those potential identity thieves out there?
