I'm bumping this old discussion because I'm certain I'm not alone in my strong desire to find a SURCHARGE FREE ATM for my PAYPAL DEBIT CARD. Back in July, Frank said he would pass along our request that PayPal join the Allpoint surcharge-free ATM network (see link at the bottom of this post). This would allow PayPal debit card holders access to Allpoint's network of over 50,000 ATMs. These machines are spread all across the United States. I was surprised to find one within walking distance of my house; over 100 machines are within 50 miles of me. So, it seems this network would be a great solution to avoid the $2-4 fees that are paid regularly to gain access to my money. So, here are my questions: - Has PayPal investigated joining the Allpoints network of partner institutions? - If they have, what was their decision? - If they plan on joining, when will this partnership go into effect? - If they chose not to join, what are the reasons for the decline? - If PayPal hasn't investigated a partnership, what is the process for doing so? - If PayPal refuses to investigate a partnership, what are the reasons for refusing? I believe these questions are straight-forward, lucid, and get to the point. The point being: PayPal debit card users want access to free* atms. Allpoint seems like a great solution. If there are other ideas, I'm fine with that. I found Allpoint after a Google search and some follow-up research. By no means do I think they are a silver bullet or even the final answer. But I do think they are good starting point to address this issue. Responses from the community in favor of this will help solidify the need for such a solution. Thanks. *minus the $1.00 PayPal fee.
