I sold an item of high value recently, the buyer asked me to ship out item ASAP straight after he had made the payment, the payment did not clear for 24hrs, after it had cleared i was of course going to go ahead and post the item. However after the payment had cleared, it was almost immediately placed under investigation as it was apparantly an 'unauthorised transaction' I messaged the buyer but no response, i must have sent about 5 messages to the buyer... no response. After a few days i was made aware that the buyer had initiated a chargeback. I recieved an email from paypal advising of course that i refrain from posting the item untill all is clear. A month later, i have recieved an email from paypal that the transaction has now been refunded and i have been charged a fee from the buyers credit card company, I have basically been stung by this person who has probably decided that they just didn/t want the item, The chargeback was agreed because paypal recieved no proof of postage, but i was told not to send it, and why would i send it when the payment is not clear?! I am totally gutted about this, does anyone at all know if i can do anything about this? I appreciate any help, thank you!
