same thing happened to me two days ago, except I didn't even try to cancel, but there was some internet connectivity problem during the transaction. I called Starbucks who told me they have a policy to not attempt to re-collect if there is an error on their order page. I called Paypal who told me I need Starbucks to cancel it on their PayPal account. Called Starbucks back, and talked to high-level manager who told me they have a policy not to contact financial institutions -- including paypal -- any way or for any reason regarding payments: either they get money from a transaction or they don't and they do not attempt to get it again. They said there was no money or request for money to cancel. Called Paypal back ... got the run around for an hour, got put on hold for 20 minutes while "Juan" supposedly was sending an internal Paypal request for cancellation which may or may not be approved, but even if it is it will not be done before 72 hours after I called them last .... which is 5 days after the fact .... basically .... PAYPAL HAS STOLEN MY MONEY FOR AT LEAST A WEEK. this company is more ghetto than those places that buy car titles or give payday loans.
