Long story short... this happened about 5 months ago and I never posted this info...
We supplied a customer with about 2000 dollars worth of stock as we had done for the past year and a bit. I would suggest they must have made about 5 purchases over that time, some for less and some for more.
It was a rush job and needed goods air'd overnight and this in itself was not unusual as we had and have done it often with this and other customers. Googled the ship to address, checked the website and had at least 4 contacts same building, same business, and to boot, knew someone in a similar business personally and they confirmed the customer.
ANYWAYS... shipped the goods, got a chargeback about 30 days later stating unauthorized charge. 2 GRANDE! I can't afford that. Thankfully though I had full tracking information, emails from the customer and proof of delivery.
Paypal fought for a month or so on it, but at the end of the day PAYPAL covered the chargeback because I followed the rules. THIS drove me crazy as I had soooo much evidence that the customer received and used the goods including confirmation directly with one of the customers employees.
So.... Follow the rules, ship with a courier and pay the extra 20 bucks for signature and ship to the confirmed address. IF the address is unconfirmed, you are still covered if you have proof of Delivery.
thanks PayPal.. I have been a Paypal customer for more than 10 years.. 14? and you had my back. Hats off to you.
