Hi everyone, I'm a UK National but am a full time resident of another (non-EU) country. I'm not running a business. If I sell something (such as a digital download) using paypal to process the payment, it seems like the fees which paypal charges depend strongly on the countries of buyer and seller, and the currencies of buyer and seller. My question is, am I free to choose this for me (the seller) in order to minimise the charges? (Note, I'm not trying to do anything dishonest here, and am of course not planning to avoid income taxes etc, just reduce the paypal charges). Let's say that most of the people who might buy my download are UK-based. If I had a paypal.co.uk account, I think I wouldn't get charged for currency conversion or cross-border payments. But am I allowed to do this if I'm not a permanent UK resident? Let's say for example that I could have a UK bank account into which I could transfer the received funds. Now let's say many buyers might be in an EU country, and want to pay in euros. Would it be at all possible to register with an EU country to reduce the charges? Again, for example say that I could have a bank account in an EU country. The only other option is to register in my (current) country of residence, but then if I understand right I'd get hit for both currency conversion and cross-border charges, as most people who would be interested in my download wouldn't be in this country or use this currency. And I'm not sure what happens if/when I move out of this country and into another, does anyone know? And I guess my last question is, if it's possible to have an account in another country, is it possible to have multiple (I presume premier) accounts? Thanks for reading this long question, and my apologies if this is already answered somewhere, I searched long and hard through the tortuous faq tree but it always just mentioned "your" country without explaining what that means.
