Prior to one month ago, I would not touch craigslist! But when my newbie Triathlete trainees began buying their entry level bikes there, I took another look. cragislist gives you instant access to a quick, cash, LOCAL transaction! One of my athletes caught a really sweet Tri Bike just as it was posted; it was an incredible deal and he was first there with the cash! I recently purchased a gas fireplace insert and had a lovely wrought iron Fireplace Set I thought I'd try to sell, with cragislist. Voila! 3 days, and I had a cash buyer; no dickering. Price is price. Then sold some designer jeans. craigslist moves your items FAST with cash! I'm now using it, before going to ebay. Its good for services; everything!

Apparently, most all the Sellers are getting the same response "I won't use Pay Pal". So, they will accept a personal check or Credit Card. Sometimes, even Bill Me Later. I just did this. Only negative was the turn-around time. There is nothing I want bad enough to EVER return to Pay Pal; Sellers are wise to this now.

I have found there are plenty of other options (business elsewhere) or if you are really addicted ebay, all sellers are amenable to other methods of payment. And I also agree with the previous post, that the more FTC receives our complaints, the higher the probability some action will be taken. They could, FTC, however, simply issue statement "Buyer beware". That's on us, really, yes?

When I completely evaluated why use Pay Pal at all, I could come up with NO reason to do so. They are 'so over' with me. So, ask yourself "WHY do I even use it?" And now, time to move on....<wink>
