I am livid that I have been bitten by the “please wait scam” three times in as many months and neither PayPal nor eBay will do anything, and in fact are accomplices in the fraud. One was in India and the other two were in China, so I am seriously considering never buying from foreigners again, and even considering closing my eBay and PayPal accounts altogether! It’s a simple scam whereby they simply tell you to wait 4-6 weeks for the item to arrive, and when it does not, they apologize for it getting lost in the mail and offer to send another for free. But when the replacement does not arrive in 4-6 more weeks, they are then free to ignore you because it is too late to open a dispute or even leave negative feedback to warn others. I am furious that eBay and PayPal apply a 45-60 day limit for disputes/feedback. Do they not understand the global market? Do they not understand that things take time? Why the **bleep** do they not give you more time? If it takes things 4-6 weeks to ship, then you should have 4-6 MONTHS to open a dispute and leave feedback. What’s worse, when you go to open a dispute or leave negative (or even neutral) feedback, PayPal and eBay strongly encourage you to avoid doing so and instead contact the seller. This is exactly what gives those fraudulent thieve the opportunity to pretend to acknowledge the problem and pretend to rectify it and buy enough time for the limit to run out. This is ridiculous; eBay and PayPal are accomplices to fraud! I will never again contact a seller when there is a problem and will always give immediate negative feedback and open a dispute. Further, I am tempted to post the description of this fraud everywhere to warn everybody about it and how eBay and PayPal are responsible for making it possible.
