Long story short, I have had enough problems with actual banks until one day I decided I am through with them. I signed up for an online only type of "bank" that supplies me with their debit card which I use as any bank supplied one. In my situation and according to what's available where I live, the method I can use to add funds to my account for use with my debit card is to put money on a moneypak card and then deposit it to paypal and then transfer it over to my account. Now this has been working out perfectly fine for me for awhile. Today however, I received the following email complaint from paypal: At PayPal we regularly screen activity in our system. A recent review of activity on your PayPal Account shows that you have been using the Green Dot MoneyPak to deposit cash and then withdraw it. Unfortunately, this activity is not acceptable use of the MoneyPak and we must request that you discontinue this activity. The Green Dot MoneyPak was designed for the purpose of depositing cash to your PayPal account for retail purchases. Continued use of the Green Dot MoneyPaks with PayPal for the purpose of cash withdrawals will lead to limitations on or closure of your PayPal Account. We apologize for any confusion regarding intended purposes of this new feature. Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions. I find this utterly ridiculous. What does it matter what they WANT me to do with it? It WORKS, has been working for me in my case for months, and now they're threatening to potentially shut down my paypal account for me utilizing a completely legit option available to me only because they suddenly just so happen to not prefer me to use it that way? I'm sorry, but not EVERYBODY takes paypal. Sometimes I can use paypal for paying with things, but sometimes I need to use an actual debit card. And I have to get that money in there somehow. Tack an extra fee onto my account for using it this way, sure, I can go with that... but don't antagonize an (up until now) satisfied customer who's just trying to carry out their situation the best they can without having a bank account! I have nothing else to say, other than... if there's anyone here who's found themselves in a similar situation, speak up. And for any paypal employees here that see this, please get together, have yourselves a little meeting or something, realize that not everyone is following the classic formula of depositing their money into a brick and mortar bank to only make paypal purchases with. Either make this transaction option perfectly fine for people in my situation, or take the option away and I guess I'll have to figure something else out to do with my financial transactions. But please don't harass innocent customers with your made up rules.
