I am getting increasingly frustrated over PayPal's "Payment Under Review" process. I'm a web designer/developer and I instruct most of my customers to go to my site and click on the "donate" button and enter their payment. Now, every single time - without exception - every payment that is made is "under review". Every single one. This is what PayPal has to say about "payment under review" : Payment Review is a new feature that looks at certain transactions for potential risk. If a payment we review is deemed to be a high-risk transaction, we notify you to hold the shipment. We then review the payment and either clear or reverse it. If the payment clears, we advise you to ship the item. If the payment doesn’t clear, we inform you and reverse the funds. Are you telling me, every single one of my payment transactions are high risk transactions? Why? What denotes a "high risk" transaction? What are the guidelines? And are you telling me that every person that pays me with a debit or credit card falls under this "high risk" transaction? What steps can I take to lessen this from happening EVERY SINGLE FREAKING TIME? As you can see, I am extremely annoyed by this "new feature". I think it blows. I am looking for other payment alternatives that do not consider every transaction a "high risk" transaction. Guess I'll break down and go ahead and get a legitimate shopping cart and merchant account. If anyone else knows of alternatives, or a way I can avoid this, I'll all ears.
