I ship merchandise for a company that sells educational material through PayPal. PayPal calculates a shipping fee automatically for our international customers. We do not charge shipping for domestic shipments. Often this fee is way more than the Post Office charges. For example, today I shipped an order to Canada. PayPal charged the customer $48.40. The actual charge was $26.85. When this occurs, I issue a refund to the customer but it makes for wonky bookkeeping. I will sit down and contact Customer Service by phone when I have time to spare. In the meantime, does anyone else have this issue? What is the correct way to address it? It seems to me that the person who set up this PayPal account had to go somewhere to set up the shipping information and I should be able to go change it. But I haven't found out where that might be. Thanks.
