I've sold and bought many items off of Ebay and although I have dealt with problems from Paypal I continued to use their services. Not anymore.
Recently I sold an item and specifically put "NO RETURNS AS IS" for an item that valued at 480.00 dollars. The item sold and the buyer made a claim that it wasn't as described and Paypal granted him a refund. Although upset that they did this even after having "NO RETURN" in the description. It's ok, I'm getting my item back, no harm no foul.
WRONG
Apparently you can send anything, doesn't matter what as long as it requires a signature to any address in the same city and state and it will be considered shipped back to you. Doesn't matter if the signature is of someone that doesn't belong to your household or the fact that your shipping address isn't displayed so you don't know where it's going. As long as somethings signed, it's ok. They then grant the buyer a refund and you are **bleep**ed out of your item and any form of a refund.
The next day I promptly called Paypal and talked to a Supervisor, told her the situation and said ok we'll request physical evidence such as a receipt saying it was shipped to your address and if we don't receive anything after 3 days we'll grant you a refund.
I agree and receive an email shortly after:
Hello Customer, We are writing to let you know that we requested additional information from the buyer about this case. We'll let you know if we require additional information from you.
Awesome I think....3 days pass and I receive no refund nor any emails. On the 4th day I check my account and the case is no longer open and changed back to an appeal????
I call Paypal again and talk to another Supervisor(Richard ext.75483) this time telling me a completely different story and I won't be receiving anything since the buyer provided enough information. Then told me he's closing the case. So I ask him to let me talk to another supervisor or his boss in which he states sorry that won't be possible????????? I tell him you are either going to transfer me to someone else or hang up because I'd like to speak to someone else. He then puts me on hold where I sit for another 30 minutes before I decide to hang up and call back. I check my paypal account and sure enough my case has been closed.
Upon calling back I talk to ANOTHER supervisor this time telling me once again something completely different. This one tells me due to a blizzard the supervisors in the department that should be handling my case aren't available and NO ONE should have closed my case because none of them had that permission. He then tells me to call back the next day and the supervisors in the right department would then be available.
Alright, another day passes and I talk to a supervisor in the right department that states something similar to what the very first supervisor had said. Then re-opens my case and tells me they will be requestion more information from the buyer to show it was shipped to the correct address and if it's not provided within 3-7 days I should receive a refund. Awesome I think that's all I wanted.
Today I check my email and I receive this:
The buyer has provided valid return tracking information on the above case. Label/Receipt Number: ********** Class: Package Services Service(s): Signature Confirmation Status: Delivered Your item was delivered at 12:09 PM on December 15, 2009 in ******* *****. The item was signed for by SOMEONE I DON'T KNOW. Please be advised that you will need to contact the buyer for further information regarding your case. Any further appeals for this reason will not receive a response. Sincerely, Mary Protection Services Department PayPal, an eBay Company
So I'm back at the beginning again.
I hope no one else has to go through this bull**bleep** and you don't get stolen from as I have.
