I thought I would update everyone on my situation: I was notified by Paypal today that they concluded their investigation into my claim. In response to your claim, the seller has provided proof of shipment indicating that the item was shipped to you. Because the seller was able to provide proof of shipment, we cannot reverse this transaction or issue a refund. We encourage you to continue to work directly with the seller to amicably resolve this matter. What do you know! I received a cd in the mail today, containing the login information for the website I purchased! For a split second, I felt guilty about my decision not to trust the seller and to file a claim against him! Well, that guilt last only as long as it took to insert the cd into the dvd drive of my laptop: lo and behold! It was blank! That is pretty clever, don't you think? The seller shipped a blank cd to me (via prority mail) in order to provide proof to Paypal that he delivered the goods he sold! Wow, I am impressed! The $5.60 it cost him in shipping was a heck of alot cheaper than what it would have cost him if Paypal had ruled in my favor! While it seems I made the right decision in not trusting the seller and filing the claim against him, where does that leave me now? I have no recourse at all? Is there nothing I can do to prove that I was scammed? 😞
