I sell lots of things on Ebay and I have one buyer who has not contacted me directly but has contacted paypal and now there is a claim against me because they claim the item was not as described. I sell hundreds of them, no problem but anyway not important. I am more than happy to refund payment if item is returned but customer did not contact me first just went straight to paypal, Bad form on part of customer! My question is this, Paypal are asking me to respond to the claim, I have choices either dispute claim, refund without buyer returning item or issue refund, buyer must return item. The third option is clearly what I want to do but does it mean that paypal will refund and then the buyer has to return the item which of course they will not do. If I click this option will paypal make them prove they have returned the item before refunding the payment??? Or does payment get refunded straight away and they have to return after??? Advise please, have tried looking it up but just keep going round in circles and not finding the answer
