The story - person bought intangible ingame item from me. Item was delivered to buyer. Some 16 days later buyer files "item not recived" dispute. Ater trawling threw paypals terms and conditions it appears that the buy (or scammer if you prefer) has no buyer protection at all regarding this sale. But still as dispute is being handled and reviewed paypal have siezed funds. Having spoken to a paypal employee on the phone directly, during with he "assured" me they deal with this kind of situation allot (which dosnt suprise me) and that paypals useage policy would indicate this would be resolved in my favour. My question is this, at the end of the dispute and the case is resolved in my favour, im next expecting the "buyer" to then go to his credit card company and attempt to reverse payment in that way. Where do i stand with that should it happen? From what im aware paypal cannot stop a credit card company forceing reversal if they so choose? So should that happen, is paypals stance on this "sorry we cant stop that guy from ripping you off, dispite the fact its plain as day he is commiting theft. Goodbye"?? Cos it seems to me that you could easily become very rich, by simply taking the p1ss out of paypal routinely if so. I thought this kind of thing was a "western union" thing, not something that ive used as a service for over 7 years (apparently in complete ignorance of the truth) and wholeheartedly belived i was "safe" to use..... If by whatever meathod it ended up being, i lose my money, at what point does it become a issue for the police, tradeing standards, whichever relavent authority, to take up? Or have i in just by useing paypal, already agreed to be stolen from according to small print?
