I also came here to see what people say about this exact situation. My local bank failed totally, miserably, abysmally on it. I bought a $2K air ticket on Delta.com for an (obviously) long foreign trip, then when the first $80 charge arrived a week later from Europe, the @#$%! bank blocked ALL card charges through all the trip, all month, even shut off age-old recurring payments back in the US. (Web hosting since 2002, etc...) They called my US cell phone for the first $80 transaction verification, d'oh!... the cell doesn't work in Europe, of course. I emailed this bank, I sent them messages from my protected online account area to set things straight, all to no avail. They made me loose about $2K with their @#$%! "card protection" BS. Anyone knows if PayPal would handle a situation like this more intelligently? I have to find an intelligent card provider. And quickly, I have recurring payments failing all over the place.
