I spent half a day yesterday trying to obtain a paypal debit card so I could transfer money to it from my account. First place dollar store which they said I would have to load a minimum of $20 on it. They could not do this because their machine said it was flagged as fraud. The went through several others and pulled all of them off the rack. Other places were out. Stripes said they could not activate the ones they had. I finally went to next town and got one at their dollar general. Activated it registered it which automatically makes you apply for the permanent card. It then takes you to a page which gives the bank info for your "fake" card so you can add this to your PayPal account and transfer money. But it would not let me. After their famous phone fiasco I was told by a supervisor that I could not transfer money onto the store bought card, until my new permanent card arrived. Then it would take 5 to 7 business days. I told them at the top of their page it says realtime transfers. She said that only for the permanent card and that you CAN NOT transfer money to your pre paid debit card until you receive and activate the permanent cad. Why the **bleep** would anyone want their $5 fake card then?. Why is this not clearly stated? Why do we have to sit on hold forever? I have been a customer since 04 they do not care, their lack of concern about something that has been an issue for many of their customers/victims shows how they are doing business. They were just sued recently for bad business practices and you would think they would fix this confusing paypal prepaid mess they made. I will be submitting a complaint with the cfbp. There is another thread about this and people trying to figure it out. Nice they make a community so users can help each other then they don't have to hire as many customer service agents.
