Two years ago, I moved. Shortly thereafter, I updated my mailing address on PayPal, and deleted the old address. Several times. The thing would not go away. Finally, it seemed as though PayPal had figured out that I'd moved, and I became complacent. About a week ago, I placed an order. I payed through PayPal, and as part of the order process I was given the opportunity to type in my shipping address, which I did. The seller I bought my item from processed the order rather slowly, which is fine. What is NOT fine is that in the meantime, PayPal had changed the shipping address that I entered to that old address that I had so much trouble getting rid of. I did not realize this until I got a notification from the seller that my item had shipped... to the wrong address. My long awaited and irreplaceable item is now on its way to Missouri, while I wait for it in Vermont. It will arrive at my old address in MO, and unless they happen to notice the wrong name on the package and refuse to accept the delivery (but how many people check the name every single time?) whoever lives there will have an item that they will keep or throw away, but almost certainly not forward to me. Even if they're a saint who would be willing to go to the trouble of forwarding it, they couldn't--they don't have my address. Oh, and by the way, before I noticed this mess, I placed ANOTHER order through PayPal last night. Thank God, I noticed the error this morning, BEFORE my package was mailed to the wrong address. Is there any way to start a dispute resolution process against PayPal itself? It seems extremely unlikely that I will receive the item that I payed for using PayPal, and I believe that the reason for that is a PayPal bug. The information I entered was correct; PayPal replaced that correct information with incorrect information. I should have caught it sooner, but they should not have made the mistake in the first place.
