I made a purchase of a large and heavy item on eBay. It was delivered by freight truck. Seller had done a bait and switch. They shipped a similar looking item worth less than half what was listed. I opened a return and the seller sent the freight company back to pick up the merch. The seller promised an immediate refund and in doing so tricked me into closing the eBay return case. eBay says effectively "too bad, go talk to PP or your CC company". Opened PayPal dispute and seller attempts same lie about closing the dispute to get a refund. Instead I let the dispute process proceed, but got stuck when it asked for a return tracking number. Being a freight item not shipped by normal means, there was no tracking number. I have proof of communications and video evidence of the freight pickup. But of course no FedEx/UPS tracking number. Over a dozen phone calls, emails, and other attempts at communicating this to PayPal failed. Their automated system closed my dispute in favor of the fraudster and now won't communicate with me about the problem. How can I get things set right?
